The countdown has officially begun for South Africa’s biggest and most prestigious modelling and fitness competition, The Next Opulent Model South Africa (The Next OMSA). The highly anticipated Grand Finale will take place on 20 August 2026, proudly brought to you by Sun International in collaboration with Johan Ungerer Signature Events.

This year, more than 200 finalists will take to the runway in a spectacular grand finale attended by nearly 5 000 guests at one of South Africa’s largest entertainment venues, Time Square SunBet Arena. Alongside its continued growth, The Next OMSA has expanded its competition categories to provide diverse opportunities for models — including runway, editorial, and fitness modelling — ensuring a platform for a wide range of talent.

The Next OMSA slogan, "There Is No Grey Area ™ ," reflects the brand’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity. The organization believes in creating a platform where every individual feels welcomed and valued, regardless of differences in age, race, height, size, or background. At its core, The Next OMSA celebrates individuality.

The success of its contestants on the international stage continues to highlight the competition’s global impact. 2025 Runway Male Winner Gavin Nolan went on to win Top Model Worldwide London, while 2025 Runway Female Winner Theane Willemse achieved First Runner-Up at the same competition and had the remarkable opportunity to walk the runway at London Fashion Week.

The 2026 Grand Finale promises to once again be a spectacular event, brought to life by internationally acclaimed Creative Director and Producer Willie Venter, recognized by The American Guild of Artists, and the creative force behind the extraordinary productions that unfold on the OMSA stage.
