Stage 1: Welcome to Old Mill Drift Guest Farm

Discover the magic of Old Mill Drift, a historic 1,646-acre guest farm and Warmblood horse stud farm. Located just 27km from Fouriesburg in the Free State, South Africa, this gem offers pet-friendly, self-catering accommodation along the Caledon River. The enchanting setting, with its stark seasonal contrasts and stunning landscapes, provides the ultimate thrill for trail runners and a peaceful retreat for those seeking tranquility.

Nestled at the foot of the Maluti Mountains and spanning 14km along the Caledon River, the natural border between South Africa and Lesotho, this exquisite land is the perfect backdrop for a technical trail run.

Route Highlights:

Aardonyx Discovery Site: Stand where the new dinosaur species, Aardonyx, was discovered. This 7m-long herbivore is key to understanding the evolution of the Sauropods. Technical Terrain: The terrain can be slippery when wet, so choose your shoes wisely! The climbs are steep but the views are oh-so worth it!

Stage 2: Welcome to Arpa Adventure Farm

Distance: 26Km | 16Km

Experience the beauty of Arpa Adventure Farm, a picturesque self-catering establishment in the stunning Fouriesburg region. Whether you're after peace or adventure, Arpa offers the perfect getaway. Enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and majestic dam, and witness the vibrant BirdLife that thrives here.

Eco-Friendly Farm:

• No grid power—electricity from generators and batteries
• 800-liter donkey boiler for hot water
• Firewood for boma fires (bring your charcoal)

Route Highlights:

• Non-Technical Roads: Run through private farms adorned with millions of cosmos flowers.
• Stunning Views: Enjoy the 180-degree views of the magnificent mountains and tranquil dam, just meters from your accommodation.
