Opening of the Javett-UP
If you’re looking for something fun and cultural to do on Heritage Day, come to the opening of the new Javett Art Centre at UP. The Javett-UP will open at 12:00 with four ground-breaking exhibitions: a collection of 101 signature works of South African art selected from collections around the country; the Javett Family Collection of South African modern art, an exhibition of significant gold pieces from the Mapungubwe and the Barbier-Mueller AngloGold collection and a selection of quirky artefacts from the university museums.
We’re also partnering with Market@TheSheds, so there will be the best in local music and other entertainment, and food and drinks will be on sale.
