Louise Carver & Ard Matthews Live

Doors open at 7:00 pm
Organized by Atterbury Theatre
Louise Carver & Ard Matthews are two of South Africa’s best singer/ songwriters whose voices were meant to be heard together. With almost 40 Top ten hits between the two of them, this breathtaking show is filled with music South Africans know and love.

Having known each other for years through the music industry, Carver asked Matthews to join her on stage at her annual Sunset Concert in the Western Cape. What followed was such a magical show that they did it again the following year and decided to continue playing together whenever their schedules allowed.

The performance is all about collaboration with both artists singing and playing on each other’s songs. There are also some surprise covers done in their unique style.

It is an acoustic, intimate concert with Carver and Matthews not only showcasing their mastery of their instruments, but also making the audience feel like they are sitting in their lounge enjoying a private show.

Louise Carver has been playing piano since the age of two and songwriting since eleven. She was signed to her first record label at fifteen and released her debut single ‘It Don’t Matter’ at seventeen which shot to number one on the charts. Louise has had 16 top ten hits [including four international no. 1’s - two of these being Billboard no. 1’s] and has been named most stylishentertainer, Most Glamorous Woman and was a 46664 ambassador for the Nelson Mandela Foundation. She has released seven albums, supported Michael Buble at Kirstenbosch Gardens, and owns LOUISE CARVER Collection - a jewelry range which is stocked across South Africa.

Over the course of the last decade and a half, one of SA`s most dynamic artists, Ard Matthews, has been honing his craft and moving people the world over. As the front man of South African band Just Jinjer, his indelible lyrics and melody arrangements led the way to the incredible success of their debut album titled ‘All Comes Round’ becoming one of the biggest selling rock genre albums of all time in South Africa, achieving double platinum status in its first year, with the follow up album ‘Something for now’ reaching the same status a year later. Matthews released his debut solo album in the winter of 2012 to critical acclaim. He is now playing regularly as a solo act, as well as still fronting the original Just Jinjer. His latest album, ‘Impossible Machines’ has just won a South African Music Award for best Adult Contemporary album, and is an uplifting, beautifully crafted collection of upbeat songs written and produced by Matthews himself. Stand out tracks include: ‘Impossible Machines’, Shoulda Stayed’ and ‘Justify.’
